About

Human subtlety will never devise an invention more beautiful, more simple or more direct than does nature because in her inventions nothing is lacking, and nothing is superfluous ” ~ Leonardo da Vinci

I’ve always loved scenery; I think I got that from my dad. He used to enthuse about the mountains and valleys we were driving through on our many family holidays to Scotland. My father was an accomplished oil painter and completed many works during the 60s.
This early exposure to the beauty of the natural world and art has informed the fascination and joy I get from observing my surroundings today.
I was born in Northern Ireland and grew up close to the spectacular Antrim coast, from which I get most of my inspiration for photography.
A two-decade architectural career in England and Ireland has also been a major influence in my appreciation of structure and form.

During 2009-10 I successfully completed a course of studies in both theory and practice in professional photography with the Photography Institute to achieve my Diploma of Photography.

.....I spend many hours exploring the beautiful Islandmagee peninsula close to my home on the Irish coast…

…soft warm evening light caressing rolling hills, delicate detail in the wing of a jewel-like insect, the drama of a post-storm cloud formation, the sea transforms a piece of wrought driftwood, carving, smoothing…..

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” ~Lao Tzu
